Swiss Software Publisher Luware develops a switching application for Skype for Business / Lync, providing the full version free of charge. This development will allow multimedia conversations to be transferred easily to another contact or service.
When a customer calls, it is decisive for their requests to be handled quickly and efficiently in order to achieve customer satisfaction and maintain good customer relations. At the same time, it is important for the attendant console to run on user-friendly and intuitive software. Launched recently as an official version, SwitchBoard takes up these requirements, allowing incoming calls to be handled more easily and more efficiently.
SwitchBoard is fully integrated into the user interface of Lync or Skype for Business, offering enhanced functionalities such as one-click blind and consultative transfer, calendar integration, chat hold before call forwarding and e-mail templates for callback requests.
“SwitchBoard has been developed within the scope of a customer evaluation scheme”, says Michael Jakob, CTO of Luware AG. “Thanks to the deployment on site and direct feedback from our customers, we were able to implement maximum ease of use in the first official release.”
SwitchBoard is a stand-alone Silverlight application that does not have to be integrated into existing Contact Center environments. It provides perfect support for easier call transfer for employees acting as agents (e.g. main number support). The application programmed by Luware is provided via Windows Azure and runs locally on the user’s computer. This provision path makes the application highly available and georedundant.
SwitchBoard is available as a free version for all users of Skype for Business, Lync 2013 and 2010 as of now. This version offers the full range of functions and updates and bug-fixes will be made available automatically. Future fee-based subscription models will remove the advertising banner and add e-mail support.
