EXIN expands their global certifications with global launch of EXIN Agile Scrum Master. The launch marks a deepening of EXIN’s Agile Scrum certification portfolio, providing exam candidates and employers with world-recognized evidence for advanced competences and skills in the field of Agile Scrum.
Cost-Efficient Certification
Agile is a popular approach for managing projects in a flexible manner, a philosophy that originated within software development but that is increasingly being used in other types of projects. As the Agile approach focuses on self-organization and cross-functional capabilities, with small teams and small development steps called Sprints, the Agile philosophy results in a flexible way of working. The intent of which is to create high quality products or services closely aligned to changing customer needs. Scrum is the most well-known and widely adopted process framework for Agile development.
Within its Project & Program Management domain EXIN already offers EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation, a foundation level certification that validates an IT professional’s blended knowledge in the field of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices. The launch of EXIN Agile Scrum Master adds to this entry-level certification by providing professionals in the fields of project management, software development, business management and IT service management with world-recognized and e-CF based* confirmation of their profound Agile Scrum knowledge and skills.
The Master level certification is developed by EXIN’s certification and exam experts, in joint cooperation with international high-profile specialists in the area of Agile Scrum including university researchers.
Unlike customary in the market, the EXIN Agile Scrum Master certification does not explicitly require any Agile related working experience. This certification is open to professionals already working with Agile Scrum or planning to work according to this philosophy. Also different than some other offerings in the market, EXIN Agile Scrum Master does not require candidates to enter into a continuous membership or to take recertification exams. Instead EXIN has chosen to develop and deliver a high-quality but cost-efficient certification to keep it accessible, affordable and obtainable for every professional interested in working with Agile Scrum.
Exam Prerequisites
EXIN Agile Scrum Master builds on the foundation level exam and has practical components. However the EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation certificate is not a mandatory prerequisite. EXIN does highly recommend this certificate or other, relevant certificates such as Prince2 Agile, EXIN Lean IT Foundation and certificates fromScrum.org and Scrum Alliance.
Taking a training with an Accredited Training Provider is a mandatory pre-requisite. This training will include practical assignments. The certification typically fits a 2-day mandatory training session. EXIN Agile Scrum Master will be available online through EXIN Anywhere and via EXIN’s global partner channel.
EXIN Agile Scrum Master will be available in six languages including English, Dutch, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and French. Other language localizations are possible when required by market demand.
e-CF Confirmed Quality
As with other certifications within EXIN’s portfolio, the EXIN Agile Scrum Master certification was developed using e-Competence Framework (e-CF) based principles. The underlying e-CF framework provides the certification with a quality assurance targeted competence development. Some of the competences addressed within the advanced level Agile Scrum certification include: Service Level Management, Component Integration, Testing, Education and Training Provision, Personnel Development, Risk Management and Process Improvement.
“The EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation certification is already a highly sought after certification in a variety of countries worldwide,” said Bernd Taselaar, CEO of EXIN. “The e-CF based quality, the cost-efficiency and close adaptation to local demand have probably contributed to this success. I expect the same from this advanced Agile Scrum certification level, especially since it was developed bottom-up – by carefully listening to global user needs.”
