Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for retail, manufacturing, distribution, and services organizations, today announced continued adoption and momentum of its cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) customer deployments, citing a 71 percent year-over-year increase in total cloud users. The company also announced the expansion of its cloud offerings, with expanded global adoption and the addition of 39 modules added to its cloud portfolio over the last 12 months, to extend and enhance customer ERP deployments and address new and emerging requirements.
Cloud is increasingly at the forefront of ERP and ROI discussions – a topic that is a big focus for industry analyst firm Nucleus Research. The firm recently issued its report: “Technology Value Matrix – First Half 2015 ERP,” which evaluates the continuing evolution of the ERP market landscape and the role of the cloud, and which positions Epicor as a “Leader.”
According to the report, “Nucleus found back in 2012 that cloud applications deliver 1.7 times the ROI of on-premises ones (Nucleus Research m108 – Cloud delivers 1.7 times more ROI, September 2012) – and more recent data suggests an even higher cloud multiplier, as companies have matured in their understanding of the benefits and best practices for achieving value from the cloud.”[1] 1(Source: Nucleus Research “Technology Value Matrix – First Half 2015 ERP,” by Rebecca Wettemann and Anne Moxie, April 2015)
“We’ve always been committed to giving customers a choice in how they want to deploy their Epicor ERP – on-premises installation, hosted operation or in a multi-tenant SaaS model,” said Craig Downing, senior director, global cloud marketing, Epicor. “Second to this, our goal has been to provide easy access to point solutions that our customers can leverage to connect and extend the value of their Epicor deployments.”
“Given the compelling appeal of cloud deployment, our customers are increasingly opting to move to a cloud-based model as more and more companies see the benefits of a single global deployment in providing greater visibility and control, improved collaboration and other advantages of moving specific workloads to the cloud,” he said.
More than 39 Modules Now Available in the Cloud, and Global Expansion
Epicor’s continued commitment to its global customer base is evident by the launch of numerous country-specific functionality sets, and additional language sets in the cloud. Today Epicor has cloud deployed clients headquarters in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Epicor has expanded the depth and breadth of its cloud offerings, with Epicor announcing that in the last 12 months an additional 39 modules have been released in their cloud deployment model. These include business systems such as Epicor Human Capital Management and Mattec Manufacturing Execution Software, as well as point solutions to address specific needs including:
- Epicor Commerce Connect, which enables organizations to support an intuitive, personalized eCommerce shopping experience.
- Epicor Tax Connect, a sales tax management service that eliminates the tedious work and complexity of calculating, collecting, reporting, and remitting taxes in multiple jurisdictions, for automated end-to-end sales tax compliance.
- Epicor eMarketing, a powerful platform for delivering effective newsletters, email marketing campaigns, and marketing automation.
- Epicor Cash Collect for cloud-based accounts receivable and collections management.
Tusco Leverages Epicor ERP in the Cloud for Competitive Advantage
Tusco Display, an Ohio-based manufacturer of point-of-purchase displays and store fixtures, switched from a 10-year-old on-premises ERP implementation to Epicor ERP in the Cloud in 2013. Today, Tusco has deployed the Epicor cloud across its entire business. It also uses the Mattec manufacturing execution system (MES) module — part of the Epicor cloud suite — on the shop floor.
“The greatest driver to move to the cloud was to gain competitive advantage,” said Michael Mock, Tusco’s IT director. “Epicor Cloud ERP gave Tusco ease-of-use and better reporting capabilities, and Tusco has been able to leverage new capabilities as the software evolves. “Removing the onus of system upkeep and maintenance has taken a heavy burden off of Tusco’s IT team, freeing up resources to focus on other areas of innovation within the company,” Mock said.
