BI Modernization
HP recently introduced its new Business Intelligence Modernization Services suite, which the company says is designed to help companies as they revolutionize their big data and business intelligence (BI) strategies and capabilities.
The new services address three major needs including discovery environments, analytics solutions, and hybrid data management. To break it down, discovery environments facilitate data visualization tools and services that enable rapid, enterprise-wide data sharing and analytic discovery collaboration. Analytic solutions address specific analytics needed to run the business better. Finally, hybrid data management services enable enterprises to deliver production-grade analytics integrated into business processes and systems that leverage relevant data.
The suite targets enterprises looking to integrate big data analytics into existing environments in order to address new analytics requirements and become more data-driven and agile.
Martin Risau, SVP, analytics and data management, HP Enterprise Services, explains that HP Business Intelligence Modernization Services is a new offering within HP Enterprise Services. Additional, complementary services within this portfolio include HP Information Advisory Services, HP Information Management Services, HP Actionable Analytics Services, HP Information Governance Services, and HP Enabling Information Technology Services.
“HP Business Intelligence Modernization Services support clients in their journey from existing BI environments to a modernized BI that enables them to be data driven and agile. We have released the BI Modernization suite of services that support and protect customers against technology obsolescence with flexible consumption models and a suite of managed services,” says Risau.
The company’s Business Intelligence Modernization Services combine analytics software, hardware, and consulting services to help enterprises activate real business outcomes. It leverages leading software from HP as well as its technology partners, including the HP HAVEn Big Data Platform, which spans Hadoop, HP Autonomy, Vertica, and HP Enterprise Security.
HP worked on the components of this service suite for about two years, and brought them together into a comprehensive suite of services, architectures, and technologies in the past 10 months. The goal is to make it easy for customers to start, bridge the old with the new, and manage the technology obsolescence through data discovery and consumption-based services.
“HP believes the next wave of business innovation is creating a race for organizations to continuously deliver better products and services, improve operations, better manage risks, and develop new business models to stay relevant in the ‘age of the customer,’” adds Risau.
Enterprises that capture the most value from this will be data driven and agile. The journey to get there involves creating an empowered workforce armed with timely data through self-service and data discovery environments, and enables rapid development new analytic solutions that improve business processes and leverage of data sources—including enterprise, human, and machine—in new combinations that could not be previously analyzed.
“With the announcement of the HP Business Intelligence Modernization Services, HP is offering a set of services to enable customers to start that journey today,” says Risau.
