Compuware Corporation, the world’s leading mainframe-dedicated software company, is pleased to announce day one support of IBM’s new z13 mainframe. Compuware will also provide same day support for related z/OS releases as well as z13 enablement of COBOL, Java and PL/1.
Designed to help companies and governments address the mega trends around mobile, analytics and cloud, the new IBM z13 is the first system that is able to process 2.5 billion transactions per day. The z13 is also the first mainframe system with embedded analytics providing real-time insights on all transactions as well as the ability to run real-time fraud detection on all business transactions.
Compuware worked in lockstep with IBM to ensure its solutions Topaz, Strobe, File-AID, Abend-AID, Xpediter and Hiperstation work seamlessly upon customers migrating to the new hardware and software. Compuware’s products continue to enhance the overall value of the z Systems ecosphere by optimizing developer productivity, reducing CPU costs and improving service quality. Topaz, Compuware’s newest and most innovative solution, directly supports z13’s data analytics and mobile use cases through its focus on helping developers access and manage critical mainframe data to support mobile apps and Big Data analytics.
“The explosive rate of mobile adoption is requiring organizations to evaluate how they can best compete in the digital economy with their current computing infrastructure,” said Chris O’Malley, CEO of Compuware. “With the introduction of the z13, our customers can take advantage of significantly more use cases related to mobile and data analytics that can be effectively and efficiently run on the mainframe. We are fully committed to helping customers exploit these innovations for both immediate and long-term performance gains.”
