commercetools, an international technology provider for e-commerce-as-a-service, re-names its technology for omnichannel retailing. The product formerly known as SPHERE.IO, which is used by more than 30 established customers in the German speaking region, is now re-named as “commercetools platform.” “Through the re-branding we provide more clarity for our potential and existing customers and agency partners”, Dirk Hörig, CEO of commercetools, explains. “Especially in regards to our internationalization, the focus on the commercetools brand will make our communication clearer.” Since May 2015, commercetools has been operating an office in New York Ciry, USA.
The product specifications will not change under the new label: The commercetools platform remains a high-performant, unlimitedly scaling solution for modern e-commerce demands, which integrates all retail functions via an open interface (API).
