Celltick, a global leader in mobile marketing, today announced the Start Exchange, an admissions-based ecosystem for developers of mobile sites, applications and widgets. Once accepted, developers can design and develop “starters” – mini-versions of applications and services designed for rapid consumption on the startscreen, the first and most visible screen on the mobile device. Developers will get immediate exposure to millions of Celltick Start users across the world, driving enhanced visibility, adoption and engagement, for free.
“Mobile users are always looking for the right applications and services to be able to access quickly and conveniently, in the course of their daily lives. With Start Exchange, we are creating a huge opportunity for developers to reach a massive audience of Android users worldwide, thus truly democratizing the playing field,” says Ramgopal Vidyanand, VP of Marketing & Business Development, Celltick.
“Celltick’s Start Exchange program is revolutionary, because it means developers no longer need deep resources to drive awareness, adoption and engagement for their products. Instead they can harness the power of the far-reaching Start platform,” says Adam Salaman, Chief Operating Officer of Perk.
Celltick’s Start is an intelligent interface giving users a truly smart device and individualized control of their phone. Start provides users with what matters most to them as soon as they wake up their device. Start is used as the default interface for Android devices by over 40 leading manufacturers and operators around the world. There are over a million new devices being launched every month with the Start interface, and it is growing at a very rapid pace month-over-month.
As users configure their Start interface, they can search for and add starters that enhance their ability to rapidly access applications and services on the startscreen of their phone. For example, a Start user may search for “news sites” and add a starter for a particular mobile news site, which displays the mobile site home page inside. The average Start user interacts with Start more than 80 times a day, making it the ideal platform to expose applications and services, attract new users and drive greater engagement, ultimately supporting revenue-generation.
Developers accepted into Start Exchange will be able to leverage simple APIs and integration for rapid starter development and deployment. In addition, the Celltick team will support developers through the entire process, including idea, development and integration. The team can also offer tips on starter development techniques, including user experience optimization and localization. More information on the proposal submission and starter development and deployment process can be found here (http://exchange.celltick.com).
