Barefoot Networks, the creator of Barefoot Deep Insight, the world’s first network monitoring and analytics system that lets you see what is happening with every packet to the nanosecond, and Barefoot Tofino™, the world’s fastest P4-programmable 6.5Tb/s Ethernet switch ASIC, and Netsia, the provider of Network and Customer Analytics solutions that empowers the operator with end-to-end, real-time network visibility, faster network and subscriber issue resolution, and network and customer insights, will demonstrate a solution that allows operators to detect network performance issues in real-time at Netsia booth 1C40 in Hall 1 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 26 – March 1.
Current network monitoring solutions lack the programmability, precision, accuracy, and performance to diagnose all network traffic and reach only the application level or telecommunications network entity level. As a result, it is impossible to adequately diagnose packet drops and latency problems as they occur, which ultimately hurts application performance. Netsia Network and Customer Analytics enables network entity and application-level visibility for the user data plane while Barefoot Deep Insight goes deeper to deliver packet-level visibility.
“We’re excited to partner with Netsia to bring the power of our P4-programmable Tofino switch ASICs and INT to enable service providers to finally get complete visibility to understand what’s happening in their NFV infrastructure at the packet level,” said Ed Doe, VP of Product, Business and Strategy at Barefoot Networks. “Barefoot Deep Insight together with Barefoot Tofino, powered by P4 programmability and INT, enables network operators to gain a measure of visibility that previously wasn’t possible. As operators enable rich new services on their 5G networks, this groundbreaking visibility will help them deliver and run these services seamlessly.”
“We’re thrilled to offer the benefits of the combination of Netsia’s Network and Customer Analytics and Barefoot Deep Insight to provide operators the insights into how their networks are performing by focusing on real-time traffic activity of the different network entities as well as the overall system,” said Oguz Oktay, VP of Wireless Solutions at Netsia. “The combined solution provides telecom operators the ability to finally get the real-time visibility not only at network node, but also at packet level without compromising performance.”
The Tofino series of P4-programmable Ethernet switches deliver deep visibility into every packet using In-band Network Telemetry (INT) standard and INT Telemetry Reports where metadata of interest can be embedded into every packet or delivered via a separate packet to an analytics engine like Deep Insight. Operators can use Deep Insight to detect almost any anomaly in the network, including microbursts, congestion problems and load balancing issues. This allows users to uncover the four ground truths for every packet in their network: 1) How did it get here? 2) Why is it here? 3) How long was it delayed? and 4) Why was it delayed? Deep Insight is available now to key customers and partners.
The Netsia Network and Customer Analytics Platform provides meaningful analysis for network behavior and information about subscribers’ experience in the network for Voice, Data Access, Messaging, Mobility and Data Usage. Coupled with Barefoot Networks Deep Insight, this combined solution gives operators the real-time visibility of activities at the individual subscriber and packet level. For each subscriber activity on the network, it creates and stores records that can be used for further analysis.
The demo will take place at the Netsia stand in Hall 1, booth 1C40.
