To bring business solution data analysis in line with the continuous delivery of new software, G2 Crowd, the world’s leading business solutions review website, today announces it has begun releasing Grid and Index Reports on a quarterly basis.
G2 Crowd’s first quarterly release, available today, features more than 1600 reports. As more statistical data becomes available real-time through user reviews, G2 Crowd expects this number to continue to grow.
“Reports on legacy business solutions used to become available once, or sometimes twice, a year. This was because most companies were using solutions that were only released on an annual or biannual basis,” says Marty Duffy, VP of research enablement at G2 Crowd. “But, in the modern cloud environment of continuous delivery, multiple releases in a single year are more commonplace and so the reports need to reflect these rapid release cycles of modern software.”
Duffy adds, “Knowing that current reporting isn’t keeping pace with the software industry’s rapid release cycles, we started to ask ourselves — ‘How do we build off the live nature of our site and figure out what would it look like to empower software buyers with a set of reports published four times a year? If the software industry moves so quickly, why can’t we?’ And before long, the quarterly reporting cycle was born.”
This new quarterly reporting structure empowers business buyers and vendors with a standard, predictable publishing program. Bringing another level of transparency to the business solutions marketplace, buyers will always have the most up-to-date information before making a purchasing decision. The G2 Crowd research team will include all solutions that have enough statistical information to be featured in the next quarter’s report.
“G2 Crowd was founded with a disruptive goal — To bring greater transparency to business buying,” says Duffy. “Using the power of the crowd, we replaced subject-matter experts with hundreds of thousands of real, verified users. Now, we’ve moved onto our next challenge, which is to bring the analysis of these insights to buyers faster to help inform their purchasing decisions. Through our quarterly reports, we’re moving at the pace of the software industry.”
