V2COM, a leading provider of Internet of Things (IoT) platforms and smart grid solutions, is leveraging its new Austin headquarters to increase its presence in the nation’s IoT industry. After 10 years of impacting Brazil’s IoT market and delivering over one million devices connected worldwide, V2COM is setting its sights on the U.S. market.
“We are excited to be in Austin. Our expansion is already giving us the kind of visibility and capacity to focus on building relationships with U.S. clients in need of our innovative and individualized IoT offerings,” says Guilherme Spina, founder and CEO, V2COM. “Ultimately, our goal is to provide our clients and partners with customized solutions designed to eliminate IoT complexity, freeing manufacturers and businesses to focus on their core expertise.”
In early 2014, V2COM’s executive team started their U.S. search for the best place to headquarter their operations. Austin’s top tier research universities, strong tech community and extremely pro-business environment was what sold the group on expanding and headquartering in the city.
“We’re pleased to have worked with V2COM to support bringing their first US-based headquarters to our region,” said Charisse Bodisch, senior vice president of economic development, Austin Chamber of Commerce. “Because of the success Austin has seen in IT and semiconductors, we are well positioned to be a leader in “Internet of Things” advancements and are thrilled to have a company with smart grid roots contributing to that regional brainpower and our overall cleantech economy.”
According to a recent Forbes list, Austin ranked as a top city for technology job creation. The list showed a 41.4 percent hike in new tech industry jobs between 2001 and 2013, and the Austin Technology Council expects that 11,754 new tech jobs will be added to the mix over the next five years. With the opening of its Austin office, V2COM plans to create 100 new jobs over the next three years.
V2COM’s core capabilities focus on increasing customer value while reducing project costs and time-to-market. By reducing the complexities found in IoT project development, the company is able to simplify the deployment of communication networks, protocol integration, security, processors and memory, data brokering and storage, and user application interfaces.
V2COM has extensive experience in a variety of industries, including both private and public entities in business-to-business complex project deployments. In the U.S., the company is currently partnering with companies such as Oracle and Freescale to provide their specialized IoT services to a range of technology verticals.
